Semi-Slav Defense
Course Details:
If you are a beginner or someone rated below 2400 on Lichess or chess.com, I'd suggest that you study this course.
If you love the Caro Kann Defense, then this would be a great supplement when White plays 1. d4. The Semi-Slav Defense is a variation of the Queen's Gambit chess opening defined by the position reached after the moves: 1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 e6 The position may readily be reached by a number of different move orders. Black's aim is just to simply create a little triangle of pawns on the center, following the structure that is similar to that of the Caro Kann Defense.
Luckily, I haven't covered lots of variations that would just end up confusing you. Instead, I have only covered a few common and relevant lines, which are mostly played by advanced players.
